Laura O'Dea has worked for 25+ years as an executive in the financial services business, building a strong business base for several large life insurance companies in the US. Her success in that industry was based on building strong personal relationships with the people who did business with her and the idea that people work with someone they like and trust. This experience enabled her to work with many financial professionals and their clients to develop strategies that would allow them to build a strong financial foundation to provide for their future financial security.
Her love of working with people and desire to build a business of her own, moved her to embark with her husband, Ken, to open Assisted Living Locators. Bringing together years of experience focused on helping people protect against the things in life that can cause major issues, positions her perfectly to work with families and individuals that are facing life challenges as they age. “Working with seniors and their families is so gratifying and the interesting life stories you get to hear are inspiring”.
Laura has professional designations that include Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and is currently attending Queens University to complete her Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. She is also earning a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) designation as part of her desire to work with seniors and their families and understand the unique challenges seniors face. She is a member of professional organizations that include, Financial Planning Association, Society of Financial Service Professionals, National Association of Women Business Owners, Area Network on Aging (ARN) and Charlotte Mecklenburg Aging Council (CMAC). Additionally she works with local groups that recognize and support social workers and other health care professionals that serve seniors in counties in Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus in North Carolina and Cherokee, Lancaster and York in South Carolina.
